To assist council and manage the funds of the community, Dauphin relies on a Director of Finance, an Accounting Clerk, a Tax Clerk and a Utility Clerk. The Finance Director is responsible for all of the finances of the City of Dauphin.

Tax bills cover the full current year i.e. Jan 1, 2008 - December 31, 2008. Tax statements are sent out around the beginning of June and are due July 31st of each year. **Accepted payment methods are cash, cheque, debit, internet & telephone banking and pre-authorized payment. Please note: WE DO NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS AS A FORM OF PAYMENT.**
The City of Dauphin receives notification of any changes in ownership on a property from Land Titles.
Utility Clerk (Dauphin)
The City of Dauphin provides treated water from a new $9,000,000 water treatment plant. It is designed for a population of 11,000 and has a production capacity of 8.8 megalitres per day, which is a maximum daily demand. Water is treated through flocculation, ozonation, disinfection and sedimentation. Sewage treatment in the City of Dauphin is by lagoon system. The total capacity of the system is 196 million gallons and it is currently operating at 75 per cent capacity.

All water sold in bulk by the City of Dauphin shall be charged as follows:
Effective January 1, 2003 - $6.25 per 100 cubic feet.
Any amount outstanding on your account after the due date will be charged penalty at a rate of 1.25% per month.
When moving into a house in Dauphin, a connection fee of $20.00 must be paid prior to having the Utility bill put in your name. Come in to City Hall to have your account set up.
When moving out of a residence, you must notify the City of Dauphin as soon as possible or extra consumption costs could be incurred on your account. A forwarding address must be given in order to have the water taken out of your name.
