City Council Commits $50,000 to Watson Arts Centre “Big Ask” Project

The Watson Arts Centre (WAC) recently kicked off it’s “Big Ask” capital campaign, which will see the not-for-profit organization raise $1.5 million to be used in four phases of development at the historic building.  City Council on Saturday night committed an initial $50,000 in funding toward the campaign, which it hopes can be levered many different ways to maximize its benefit for the building redevelopment.  Council is excited at the progress of the redevelopment project thus far, including the main floor washroom and old fire hall upgrades, and wants to continue to partner with the Board to help make all phases a reality.
