The City of Dauphin is pleased to be working with Take Action on Radon and BC Lung to raise awareness of the dangers of radon gas. City of Dauphin residents are invited to participate in the 100 Radon Test Kit Challenge; a program that provides a FREE radon test kit to residents. All participants in the program are encouraged to attend the Radon Information Session to learn more about the health effects of radon, why it’s a concern in our area and Health Canada recommendations on reducing radon levels.
Canada has had a National Radon Plan for over a decade, encouraging people to test their homes for radon and reduce high levels. Radon is the leading cause of lung cancer in non-smokers and can be found in elevated concentrations in homes across the country.
For residents of Dauphin, now is the perfect time to Take Action on Radon. Only 100 free kits are available! Residents can sign up for the program at Take Action On Radon Test Kit Challenge Sign Up Form
The free Radon Information Session will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall or via the Zoom link (provided when you register).
Registered participants can pick up their free radon test kit at the City Hall Information Session or at City Hall between 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. from Thursday, November 9, 2023 until Friday, November 17, 2023.
